To properly use Disqus, cookies — specifically, first-party cookies — must be enabled to leave comments and remember your Disqus login information.
While third-party cookies aren't required for sites using Disqus, we'd recommend keeping them enabled to guarantee that all features function properly. If you'd rather not enable third party cookies from all sites, you can block them and simply add an exception for disqus.com and its subdomains. Instructions to do so are noted underneath each browser below.
If you can't comment, or aren't able to stay logged in, check your cookie settings using these instructions for your browser:
Internet Explorer
- Click Tools in the upper right hand area of your browser
- Find and click Internet Options
- Go to the Privacy tab and click Advanced
- Check Override automatic cookie handling (if it isn't already)
- Make sure First-party Cookies are set to Accept
- Set Third-party cookies to Accept
If third party cookies are blocked:
- Under the Privacy tab click the Sites button
- Type disqus.com and click Allow
Chrome
- Click the Wrench Icon -> Preferences
- Click the Under the Hood tab
- Click Content settings...
- Choose Allow local data to be set
- Make sure "Block all third-party cookies..." and "Clear cookies..." are unchecked
If third party cookies are blocked:
- Under Content settings click Manage Exceptions...
- Type [*.]disqus.com as a hostname pattern and set to Allow
Firefox
- Windows: Go to Tools -> Options
Mac: Go to Firefox -> Preferences - Click the Privacy tab
- Under History, select Use custom settings for history
- Check both Accept cookies from sites and Accept third-party cookies
If third party cookies are blocked:
- Under the Privacy tab click Exceptions
- Type disqus.com and then click Allow
Safari
- Windows: Go to Edit -> Preferences
Mac: Go to Safari -> Preferences - Click the Security tab
- Under Block Cookies, select From third parties or advertisers or Never
If third party cookies are blocked:
- Using exceptions aren't necessary when third party cookies are blocked with Safari
