Disqus Digests

Disqus Digests give you a daily or weekly glimpse of activity on the Disqus network, customized for you.

Disqus Digests

Why did I receive a Disqus Digest?

You will receive a Digest if “Receive Disqus Digests” is enabled in your notification settings, and at least one of the following events occur:

  • There’s new activity in a discussion you’ve starred.
  • Someone replied to a comment you left.
  • Someone you follow left a comment.

How can I make Digests more interesting?

You can add more content to Digest emails in 1 of 3 ways:

1. Star Disqus conversations

Star Convos

There is a star button at the top of each Disqus conversation. Starring is a way to let the publisher and other readers know you like the conversation taking place. If you’ve starred a conversation, we’ll update you with the best comments from that discussion in your Digest.

2. Leave comments

Comment

The more you interact Disqus by leaving comments, the more replies you’re likely to receive. When you receive a reply we’ll be sure to include it in your Disqus Digests.

3. Follow other Disqus users

Follow Users

When you follow other Disqus users, we’ll include their comments in your Disqus Digests. We’ll also include some information about the discussion so that you have the ability to jump right in.

Can I change how frequently I receive Digests?

Yep. Disqus Digests are available on either a daily or weekly basis. Daily Digests include new content from the day prior. Weekly digests include content from the week prior. To change the rate at which you receive Digests:

  1. Navigate to disqus.com. If you’re not logged in, click “Login” at the top right and enter your username and password.
  2. Place your mouse over your avatar at the top right to reveal a drop-down menu. Click on “Edit Profile”.

    Edit Profile

  3. You’ll be brought to your Dashboard, and a dialog box will appear with various account settings. Find the “Notifications” tab on the left and click on it.

  4. Scroll down until you see “Disqus Digests”. Here you have the option to select either “Daily” or “Weekly”.
  5. Once you’ve made your selection, scroll further down to reveal the “Save Changes” button at the lower right. Click “Save Changes” to confirm your new settings.

I’ve enabled digests, but I haven't received any. What’s going on?

If you did not receive a digest as expected, it’s likely that there was no new content to notify you about. As a reminder, digests are only sent if one of the following events occur:

  • There’s new activity in a discussion you’ve starred.
  • Someone replied to a comment you left.
  • Someone you follow left a comment.

If you think this is an error, please let us know.

How do I unsubscribe?

If you’d like to unsubscribe from Digests only, simply click on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each Digest email. Also, we’d love to have your feedback. If there’s something we could do that would make you consider re-subscribing to Disqus Digests, please let us know.

If you’d like to unsubscribe from all Disqus emails (including Digests and notifications) see Managing Notifications.

If you’d like to receive only Digest emails (but no longer wish to receive regular notification emails), follow these instructions:

  1. Navigate to disqus.com. If you’re not logged in, click “Login” at the top right and enter your username and password.
  2. Place your mouse over your avatar at the top right to reveal a drop-down menu. Click on “Edit Profile”.

  3. You’ll be brought to your Dashboard, and a dialog box will appear with various account settings. Find the “Notifications” tab on the left and click on it.

    Notifications

  4. Here you’ll find detailed notification settings. Under “Personal Settings”, uncheck the items which you no longer wish to receive regular notifications on. Be sure to leave “Receive Disqus Digests” checked if you wish to continue receiving Digests.
  5. Once you’ve made your selection, scroll further down to reveal the “Save Changes” button at the lower right. Click “Save Changes” to confirm your new settings.

    Save Changes

Please note, if you’re receiving both Disqus Digests and Disqus notification emails, you may see the same content appear in both.
