Common troubleshooting

Are you using the right account information?

The Disqus JavaScript is specific to your account on Disqus, which is called your forum. Make sure you haven't mistyped your forum shortname.

Are you using the trusted domains feature in your settings?

Trusted domains are sites which you want your forum shortname to load on. If Disqus isn't loading on your site, make sure your site's domain is in the trusted domains list, and is in the proper format.

CORRECT formats:

example.com
 subdomain.example.com

INCORRECT formats:

http://www.example.com
 example.com/my-blog-name

Are your thread URLs complete?

When inserting the thread URLs in your code, you'll want to ensure that the domain is present, and that you're not using a relative URL. When only the tail end of a URL is present, Disqus will not be able to load.

For example, having the following value inserted as the thread URL will prevent Disqus from loading correctly:
'/my-blog-name'

To correct this, ensure that the complete URL value is inserted, like below:

If your protocol is relative, you can leave off http://, but the example.com section of the URL must be present for Disqus to load.
